About Sylvia

Sylvia the armadillo is the resident Armadillo Day meteorologist for the City of Apex, North Carolina. For her prognostication, Mayor Jacques Gilbert dramatically raises Sylvia towards the sky while playing “The Circle of Life” as Sylvia peers into the future. Shortly after, Mayor Gilbert announces Sylvia’s whispered prediction to the crowd, as only he understands Armadillo-ese. When she isn’t making highly-anticipated weather forecasts, Sylvia spends her time at the Animal Ed.ventures Sanctuary, where she snacks on bugs and roughhouses with her tortoise roommate.
