Okanagan Okie
About Okie
Meet Okanagan Okie, the newest addition to the Allan Brooks Nature Centre family! Okie is a charming Yellow-Bellied Marmot hailing from Vernon, BC, and proud cousin to the marmots that call the Centre home. Known for his flair for theatre and larger-than-life personality, Okie was unanimously elected to take on the prestigious role of spokes-marmot for ABNC. Okie has trained diligently in the ancient art of weather prognostication for the Centre’s Groundhog Day celebrations. However, Okie still has one challenge—he’s not exactly a morning marmot! He needs a little encouragement from the community to rise and shine on time for his special day.
