Hope the Groundhog

About Hope

Hope the Groundhog is the official prognosticator for the town of Hope, Indiana. Every year on February 2nd, local notables gather around a bandstand in the Town Square as Hope makes her annual prediction of either an early thaw or six more weeks of “Brrr!”, set to a soundtrack of polka music. Hope, the superstar groundhog, also makes herself available to her adoring fans to snag selfies with after her prediction. Hope has been making predictions since 2021, when she took over for the now-retired Grubby the Groundhog.
