Walnut the Hedgehog
About Walnut
Walnut is a four-toed hedgehog who makes annual prognostications for the Boonshoft Discovery Museum in Dayton, Ohio. According to her official biographer, Walnut was part of a debate team which travelled to Pennsylvania where she met Phil, a famous prognosticating groundhog. Walnut and Phil immediately clicked and shared laughter, pears, and long conversations about prognosticating. That’s how she first came to learn the arcane rituals of weather prediction, which she now performs every year for ‘National Hedgehog Day’ (a Roman tradition that precedes the modern Groundhog Day).
