Cornelia the Groundhog

About Cornelia

Cornelia is the officially-designated prognosticating groundhog for the EcoTarium in Worcester, Massachusetts. While other groundhogs dig burrows, Cornelia appreciates a scenic view and has built herself a penthouse-style box atop a rock formation. She is a cosy girl who likes to decorate her pad with blankets, paper, and cardboard — which is important because she enters torpor (less intense than hibernation) and can doze off for quite a while. In between interior decorating and prognosticating, Cornelia is a bit of foodie who loves to chow down on broccoli, walnuts, and bananas.
