Allen McButterpants was the groundhog mascot and ambassador of the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center in Hampton Bays, New York. Allen had mobility issues which meant he couldn’t be released back into the wild, so he spent his time on training and exercise which kept him in tip-top shape for his annual prognostications. Allen was a bit of a health nut who followed a clean vegetarian diet of leafy greens, carrots, beets, and tomatoes, and kept in shape with digging-centric workouts. Allen was also particularly keen on yoga and meditation, which contributed to his calm and easy-going personality.
